They are extremely vague, sarcastic, smug and cultish the way they talk to you. People are getting to bright to join corrupt operations such as mlm. Ps.... the front of these businesses are products and helping people, but the actual model and center of the company is mind control / cultism and extortion. I don't even respond to them anymore because they're so dishonest.

What did you take away from this episode?

Be intentional with the job search. You gotta be able to focus and target exactly what you want. You can get a job playing the numbers game but it’ll most likely not be what you want. You increase the quality of opportunities by being strategic and specific.

What did you take away from this job search breakdown?

First I want to say thank you for the realistic advice. I know there a lot of individuals that will tell you get security + and you can get in or you don’t need a cert at all to get in. If this case is true then what do you need to land a cybersecurity job.

What I think could be a great segment for you guys is to have a resume raffle with the target IT role they are going for. Pull out the selected resume(with their permission with blurred out critical PII) to be assessed during your show and explain your subscribers the do's and don't for a resume to show why some people are not getting a interview from these IT jobs they are going after at least. Can you interview a Baby Boomer or Gen X who can relate to their peers trying to transition into Cybersecurity in 2024? There are a lot of us out here.

Many/most people do not understand how to go about getting a job. Many/most people do not understand how to go about getting themselves into this field. The have listened to tictok. Got the entire Comptia cert stack. But not once did they look at the actual job description to see if they or their resume stacks up against what that company is looking for. Just cause you apply for a job doesnt me you are prepared to get that job. And this is before we ever even talk about people and their interview skills. Even less people know how to interview.

This is the 3rd breach of my medical info. But this company is not offering any credit protection why not? I'm calling a lawyer.

Nope. It took me about 4-5 months to land a job after I got laid off and I had net+ and sec+, almost 2 years of experience. I ended up at the service desk 😞. It was like starting from the bottom again but at least they sponsored my clearance. I’m thinking about applying for a junior CyberSecurity analyst position my job posted but ive only been with the company 2 months and a clearance isn’t required for the position 😬.

I’m glad I don’t have to go through looking for my first job. I will be finishing my associate in computer network sys&admin while working towards my ccna and I got promoted as an IT tech. Looking forward to learning🙏🏽

I work for a big company and training is a full qtr and we happen to start on the 1st day of qtr I'm week 6 or 5 of the 2nd qtr I just hit the floor in qtr 2 they're already talking PIP bc during training I wasn't selling and met 80% we were never told this me and 1 other person bc we on the same team everyone else in our training class are like yeah we have been told we are good it takes 2 full qtr on the floor to get ya money up. I've been outta sales for 10yrs I was great but damn maybe I suck now

6 figures is not unrealistic buts very uncommon, I hate that it feels like I’m the only person from my generation who understands this. You gotta start somewhere. Stack experience plus knowledge(degrees and/or certifications) and you got the job .

You have to ask yourself. Are you productive enough for 100k and why should they hire you for that bracket of money? You're not the only one with a certificate.

Can I break in cyber security with a decent salary while I pursue a degree?

I went the gov sec route. 2 months after getting Sec+ I landed a position as a sys admin. Now I'm a SOC analyst with Sec+ and CySA+

I've been a contractor for 3 gov roles and never had a cert.

A lot of Cybersecurity influencers are selling dreams...and courses lol. Im not mad at the hustle but I wish they would be honest.. especially the black influencers who know the challenges we face as a people.

I applied to a Amazon role that sounds just like the position you quit, except my background is in Compliance and I understand the foundations of Risk Management but I don’t have any technical skills or CS degree that the role is also looking for as the preferred skills. Now I understand that I should look into some technical courses on Coursera like SQL and Cybersecurity. Do you have any suggestions on how I should learn about technical processes?

😮 I just received a letter from cencora today notifying me that my information has been stolen. My question is what company?? This is way too vague I'd like to know what company which one of their third party vendors or whatever My information was on. I think I have a right to know so that I can make my decision as to what I need to do regarding this letter they sent me. I know I'm getting darn sick and tired of my data being breached and I just, I just don't understand why they're not doing their jobs to keep my data safe. And in the end I have to do all the leg work with just b******* cuz I just don't feel like it 🤬 I mean this happened in February and it's June WTAF!
